Phnom Penh, My Hometown

March 06, 2014

My hometown is Phnom Penh. It values its status as the capital of Cambodia.  Unfortunately Cambodia had Civil War for decades and Phnom Penh is one of places had fire War happened and almost destroyed everything. After Cambodia have finished and released from Civil War in 1979. Phnom Penh try to develop themselves from empty hand to a modern capital. Phnom Penh is populous with approximately 1.3 million people. So far, many investors like to invest and more and more skyscrapers appear. Now there are many banks, supermarkets, big factories, condos are building up and existed there. It is attracting investors to invest. Because it is the political, economic and commercial capital, now Phnom Penh is an importance developing capital that shows high standard living of people. Phnom Penh have many cultural and religion tourism sites such royal palace, national museum and Wat Phnom. Other attracting sites are also Tuol Sleng museum (or S21) and Boeung Cherng Ek where tourists always aim to visit and want to have the answer of the question WHY?
Even though they have almost everything for people working to run the city as I have stated but it still face with unemployment. Thousand students graduated from universities annually are jobless. Hence, the royal government should pay more attention to create more job opportunity for them otherwise this will discourage student from further their education.

Regarding to my birthplace, it was near the Som Nong 12 market which is the location I love because it is the safe place and my neighbors are friendly and help each other. As aforementioned, Phnom Penh is the hometown that I have been living happily with my family and studying.
